We’ll be hosting our usual weekly Meet ‘n’ Greet at our Adoption Center from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. (Click here for a map.) You’ll get a chance to meet and play with Blue, Maggie Mae, Tyson, and many of our other adoptable dogs and cats.
If you’re going to be in the Dallas area, though, why not stop by the Plaza Days Sidewalk Sale at the Plaza at Preston Center? In addition to face painting, balloons, popcorn, and lots of fun, family-friendly activities, the annual event will also be featuring dog adoptions, and we’ve been invited to bring some of our pups!
Meet Dixie, Rango, Aster, Bronco, Snuffy, and others, all waiting for their forever homes. We’ll be there from 10:00 am until about 3:00 pm (the event itself will end at 6:00 pm), so check out the great shopping and then swing by our adoption event for some cuddle time with our dogs. Join us on Saturday, April 20th, from about 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Studio Movie Grill in Dallas for a very special adoption event. The theater has graciously offered to host an adoption event for several local rescue groups and has invited us to participate. The event is part of a promotional campaign for the premiere of a new cartoon, Pound Puppies: Mission Adoption, being held that same day.
We will be at the North Dallas location at 13933 N. Central Expressway with many of our adoptable dogs. Note that we will not have our usual Saturday morning Meet ‘n’ Greets that day so that we can focus our energies on attending this event.
We hope you can come and join us! If you adopt a puppy, you’ll get two free passes to SMG, and if you donate puppy chow or pet supplies you’ll get a chance to win a Pound Puppies DVD or free movie passes.

Effective February 1st, you can adopt an adult cat for $75 (reduced from $1150) and a kitten for $100 (reduced from $145). This is a special offer for a limited time only, so if you’ve been thinking about adopting a cat, now’s your chance.

Just in time for Christmas, we’re offering a discounted adoption rate for all of our kitties and cats! If you’d like to ring in 2013 with a new family member, now’s a great time to do it.
The adoption fee for cats over 12 months of age is $25, while the fee for kittens 12 months and under is just $50. If you’d like to meet many of our adoptable cats, head on over to our Adoption Center this Saturday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, when we’ll have a special Meet ‘n’ Greet just for our cats. You’ll have a chance to interact with them, cuddle with them, and see which one will touch your heart (they all will!). We have so many wonderful, sweet cats waiting for a home they can call their own. We hope that yours will be the one!

It’s that time of month again! We’re going to be at Pet Supplies Plus in Richardson this Sunday, October 7, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with some of our adorable and adoptable dogs and cats.
We’re at PSP on the first Sunday of every month, so please join us and meet our volunteers, fosters and foster animals. This weekend is supposed to have gorgeous weather, so it’s the perfect time to gather up your friends and family and come see us at PSP!

TMHPR supporter and active Girl Scout Laura Evans has selected TMHPR for her Girl Scout Gold Award project! The Gold Award is considered the highest achievement in the Girl Scouts organization, and we’re truly honored that Laura has chosen Take Me Home Pet Rescue to be a part of it.
Last week, Laura hosted an information session focusing on 4 critical issues related to dogs: heartworm prevention, spaying/neutering, foster care, and adoption. This Saturday, she’ll be offering information and materials on those 4 issues again, but this time she’ll turn her attention on cats.
The information session will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm at our Adoption Center, just after our weekly Meet ‘n’ Greet. Visitors and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about how these issues affect the enormous homeless pet population in the United States, tour the Adoption Center, and eat some yummy cupcakes.
Laura has also compiled a wishlist of much-needed supplies for TMHPR and has been actively soliciting donations on our behalf.

With many of our dogs going to the Dallas Pet Expo this weekend, what better way to showcase our many available and adoptable cats and kittens than an event exclusively for them?
We’ll be holding a Cats-Only Foster and Adoption Event this Saturday at our Adoption Center, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. You’ll get to meet some of the cuddliest, cutest kitties around, including many nearly newborn kittens who still need a loving foster home while they wait for their forever families to fall in love with and adopt them.
We’ll have refreshments, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities for you, your family and friends to mix and mingle with the cats. Oh and the volunteers and foster families, too! Most folks know that we have lots of adorable dogs that we foster and adopt out — hundreds over the past 4 years, in fact — but did you know that we also have plenty of equally adorable cats and kittens in our group? To really showcase our feline friends, we’re hosting our first-ever Cats-Only Adoption Event on May 19 and 20, 2012, at our Adoption Center!
That’s right — it’s such a big event for us that we’re going to need 2 days just to show off all our wonderful cats and kitties. We’ll even have a Spring Special, valid for just those two days: $25 discount on our standard adoption fees for all cats and kittens over 3 months old.
